Ember Hearth
Smoked cedar, clove & a curl of woodsmoke.
Small-batch soy & coconut wax candles, poured by hand in the Distillery District — scents built to slow the room down.
A candle isn't the point. The point is the half-hour after you light it — when the room dims a shade and the day finally lets go.
Made by four hands in one small Toronto studio.
Every Ember & Oak candle is blended and hand-poured in our Distillery District studio with a clean soy-and-coconut wax, cotton wicks, and fragrance oils we test for weeks before they ever earn a label. No paraffin, no shortcuts — just a warm, even burn and a scent that fills the room without shouting.
Five house favourites — the scents our Distillery regulars come back for, season after season.
Smoked cedar, clove & a curl of woodsmoke.
Green oak moss, vetiver & warm amber.
Spiced fig, bourbon & toasted chestnut.
Lavender, cracked pepper & soft sandalwood.
Balsam, frankincense & wild fern. Limited.
There's a moment — when the wick catches, the room dims a shade, and the day finally lets go. That's what we're really making. Not just a candle, but a small signal to yourself that the evening is yours now.
We hand-mix each fragrance into a soy-coconut base and let it rest until the scent is exactly right.
Every vessel is filled by hand at the right temperature, one small batch at a time. No machines.
Then they rest for two full weeks so the scent sets and the burn stays clean and even, edge to edge.
"The first Ember & Oak candle I lit, my whole apartment felt warmer. I haven't bought another brand since."
Pull up a stool, smell the whole collection, and watch a pour in progress. Walk out with something that smells like home.
